Materials & Techniques

The clay that I use for the ceramic pieces that I create is ‘’stoneware’’ clay, which is referred to a high-fired (about 1200C+) ceramic clay, that is semi-vitreous (not translucent and not zero porosity).

Stonewares can be glazed to create ware that approaches the strength of porcelains.
Stoneware bodies are thus more practical for the vast majority of ware made by the ceramic industry. This practically means that there is a high endurance capability for pieces meant to be used in your day to day life, while being affordable.
Most of my glazes are being made by me, with recipes that I have developed and tested of the years and strike a balance between aesthetics and functionality.

A common question about handmade ceramic pieces (besides the question about food safety, which of course they are) is if a piece is dishware and microwave safe.

Every piece that I make is dishware and microwave safe, unless otherwise mentioned!
But for the longevity and well being of a handmade piece, I always suggest to wase your pieces by hand, so that it has more endurance over the years.

If you have any other question about the process you can find my journey on my social media platforms, where I share daily information and behind the scenes stuff.
